洋基隊前守護神Mariano Rivera的兒子，台北時間9日的選秀會在第四輪被國民隊選中，小Rivera希望可以向他父親一樣，未來也在大聯盟發光發亮。
Mariano Rivera效力洋基隊期間，19年的大聯盟球員生涯，締造了652次救援成功的大聯盟紀錄，2013年球季結束後，Mariano Rivera脫下戰袍，決定退休。
21歲的小Rivera去年就曾參加選秀，洋基隊第29輪才選他，當時小Rivera放棄加入洋基隊的機會，回到大學就讀。小Rivera決定再等1年，希望可以有球隊在前10輪選他，今天他夢想成真，國民隊在第四輪就選了小Rivera。
跟爸爸一樣，小Rivera也是名投手，今年他在大學的聯盟中投85局，戰績5勝7敗、防禦率2.65，三振113次，是相當驚人的成績。
